I live in Texas and want to learn Japanese very badly. However, my school only offers a Spanish course. My solution is to learn Japanese on my own time at home. Is there any way I could use Japanese as my foreign language credit (instead of Spanish) without taking a Japanese class?

P.S. I am willing to work very hard!

Ok, well of course im going to take Spanish in High School. But, I have this Mexican friend. She is willing to teach me some Spanish. I think its a good idea to learn some Spanish before I actually get into it. So, my question is, how should I start to learn Spanish? How to take good notes for Spanish learning?
