Que Dilemma! Take a Tefl course in Spain then look for work or learn Spanish first?

Spain Calling asked:

One thing I know is that I want to live in Spain. I don’t know where, but probably by the sea…but the dilemma is do I study a TEFL course so that i have a backup work plan and then learn Spanish part-time looking for another job on the way. Or do I just go straight there and study Spanish for 2 months in the hope that will make me more employable?

Also, anyone know of good job website contacts or where to look for jobs for the Americas Cup 2007?

Thanks all!!!

  • To Learn Spanish

Take a course in Spanish (and Spanish culture, if you can) here, and while you’re doing it, try and meet people who have been to Spain or have lived there. Chances are your teacher has done one or the other, and can give you more pointers on what to do in getting a job there.

I would not advise just hopping a plane to Spain and trying to make it there, unless you have a friend or family living there. You want a backup plan in case something happens.
